Finland Leads €23M EU Initiative for Nigeria's Digital Services

Finland has announced it will lead a €23 million initiative funded by the European Union aimed at strengthening Nigeria's digital public services. The initiative will support the rollout of a technical talent program, known as the 3MTT program, designed to develop a pool of technical talent across Nigeria.

Finnish Ambassador to Nigeria, Sanna Selin, revealed this information in a statement issued on Monday by Maria Ruuskanen from the Finnish Embassy. The initiative is part of the EU-Nigeria Digital Economy Package and aligns with Nigeria's National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy for 2020-2030.

Finland's Development Training Company, Hau, will implement the project in partnership with Estonia's Development Agency, Estdev. The program aims to enhance access to secure, interoperable, citizen-centric public services and strengthen institutional capacity within the Nigerian government framework.

The initiative is expected to improve public service delivery, boost trust in government institutions, and unlock new economic opportunities in Nigeria.
