Fintiri Launches Health Week to Boost Maternal Care

On a designated date, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State inaugurated the first round of the 2026 Integrated Maternal Newborn Child Health Week, aiming to provide life-saving healthcare services to vulnerable communities across the state. Represented by Deputy Governor Prof.

Kaletapwa Farauta, the initiative launched a five-day campaign in Yola South Local Government Area, reaffirming the administration's commitment to improving maternal and child healthcare. The program, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other partners, promotes father involvement in child healthcare.

During the event, the administration distributed 8,000 Mama Kit beneficiaries to pregnant women and nursing mothers, which included antenatal care services, iron and folic acid supplements, and health education. Prof.

Farauta commended healthcare workers for their contributions to the campaign's success. Additionally, she inspected ongoing primary healthcare facility projects in Nzumosu, Bolki, and Kpasham, expressing dissatisfaction with the quality of work and directing contractors to improve standards and ensure timely completion.
