Fintiri Swears In 21 Local Government Chairmen in Adamawa

On June 13, 2023, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State swore in 21 newly elected local government chairmen during a ceremony in Yola. These chairmen, elected under the People's Democratic Party, will serve a three-year term.

Fintiri congratulated the chairmen and 226 elected councillors, urging them to justify the confidence placed in them by the electorate. He warned the new council leaders against engaging in corrupt practices and emphasized the importance of respecting local governance over state capital interests.

Fintiri called for a focus on grassroots strategies to improve the lives of rural communities and urged the chairmen to work closely with traditional rulers to strengthen public trust in government. Alhaji Ibrahim Jibrin, the chairman of Yola North Local Government Area, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and pledged to ensure that the people enjoy the dividends of democracy.
