A fire incident in Gombe destroyed property worth N1.1 billion in the timber and scrap markets, with the latest fire occurring at the Kasuwan Katako timber market. The Chairman of the Timber Sellers Association, Mr.

Moham Ahmadu, appealed for state and federal government assistance to support affected traders. The Deputy Governor, Manasseh Jatau, expressed sympathy for the victims and assured that the government would assess the damage and provide necessary support.
