Fire Destroys Shops and Restaurant in Gombe, No Casualties Reported

A fire incident occurred in Gombe, destroying shops, a restaurant, and other properties along the Gombe-Yola road. The fire broke out around 3 am, rapidly spreading across the business area and causing significant damage estimated in millions of naira.

Despite the scale of destruction, there were no casualties or injuries reported. Yusuf Danbayo, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters and Intergovernmental Affairs, commended the security agencies for their swift intervention, which helped prevent a more severe disaster.

The fire was brought under control by the combined efforts of emergency firefighting teams from various agencies, including the Gombe State Fire Service, Federal Fire Service, and Gombe State University Fire Service Union. Alhaji Auwal Abdulkadir, Chairman of Mile 3, actively supported the stakeholders in managing the situation to ensure the safety and security of the surrounding community.
