Medismart Launches Portal for Health Insurance Access

Medismart, a technology firm, is set to launch a diaspora premium payment portal next month as part of its vision to expand healthcare access across Nigeria's 180 million uninsured population. According to Medismart's Chief Executive Officer, Obinna Osuji, the portal is designed to ease the financial burden of medical expenses and restore dignity to patients who often resort to public fundraising through social media for healthcare needs.

Osuji emphasized that healthcare access is a basic human right, and many individuals cannot afford out-of-pocket medical expenses. The portal will bridge the funding gap by linking the Nigerian diaspora to Medismart's platform, allowing them to purchase insurance packages for their relatives in Nigeria.

This initiative aligns with Medismart's long-term goal of integrating health insurance subscription payment solutions, making healthcare more accessible, especially for underserved communities.
