Energia Celebrates 25 Years in Nigeria's Oil Sector

Indigenous energy firm Energia has commenced celebrations for its 25 years of operations in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. Founded in 2001 by Nigerian oil and gas professionals, Energia has evolved from a small exploration outfit to a diversified energy company with interests in production, gas processing, and export infrastructure.

Chairman George Osahon emphasized the anniversary as a tribute to the vision and resilience of those who contributed to the company's growth. Key milestones include First Oil from the Ebendo/Obodeti field in 2009, a gas processing plant developed with Xenergi between 2010 and 2013, and cumulative crude production reaching five million barrels by March 2016 and ten million barrels by 2020.

Since 2021, Energia has expanded its technical capacity and plans to increase output to 20,000 barrels per day. Managing Director/CEO Oladimeji Bashorun stated the next phase will focus on discipline and responsible growth.

The five-month anniversary program is themed “Honouring Energia’s Legacy. Shaping Tomorrow’s Energy,” showcasing milestones and community investments.
