Energia Celebrates 25 Years in Nigeria's Energy Sector

Energia, an indigenous energy company in Nigeria, has commenced its 25th anniversary celebration, recognizing a quarter-century of achievements in the energy sector. Established in 2001 by Nigerian oil and gas professionals, many of whom were part of the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN), Energia aimed to showcase the capabilities of indigenous firms in the oil and gas industry.

Over the years, the company has expanded its operations from crude oil production to gas processing and storage. A significant milestone occurred in 2009 with the achievement of First Oil from the Ebendo/Obodeti field.

Subsequent years saw strategic investments, including a 25 MMSCFD gas processing plant in collaboration with Xenergi, and reaching cumulative crude oil production milestones of five million barrels in March 2016 and ten million barrels in 2020. As of 2021, Energia has continued to enhance its capabilities, including the completion of a produced-water treatment plant and the drilling of new wells, while aiming to upgrade its field capacity to 20,000 barrels of oil per day.
