Nigerian Firm Petitions FG Over Lithium Theft and Invasion

K M Done Mine Limited has petitioned the Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development over the invasion and theft of lithium at its mine site in Saki, Oyo State. The company alleges that West Africa New Energy Materials Company Limited, with the alleged connivance of Nigerian security forces, forcibly entered the site and stole 12 truckloads of lithium.

The incidents involved the interception and detention of trucks in different states, including Kwara and Ogun, with some trucks reportedly developing mechanical faults. The firm is seeking intervention to address the security breaches and theft.
