Nigerian Firm Petitions Government Over Seized Lithium Truckloads

A mining company, K M Done Mine Ltd, has lodged a complaint with the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development regarding the seizure of 12 truckloads of lithium in Saki, Oyo State. The company alleges collusion between security personnel and another company, West Africa New Energy Materials Company Ltd, in forcefully entering its mine site and seizing the lithium.

The Ministry, along with state services in Kwara State, intercepted seven trucks suspected of illegally transporting lithium. The incident involved a convoy departing Saki and being apprehended in Kwara State.

The company claims the seizure was unlawful and involved assault, theft, and ejectment. Investigations are ongoing.
