Jabi Lake Mall Upgrades Solar Capacity to 1.5 MWp

Grene Capital, in partnership with Elektron Renew, has upgraded the solar system at Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja, Nigeria. The project adds 900 kWp of photovoltaic capacity to the existing system, increasing the total installed solar capacity to 1.5 MWp.

This initiative reflects Grene Capital's long-term commitment to enhancing the resilience and performance of its assets. The upgrade is expected to generate approximately 175,000 kWh of clean electricity monthly, significantly reducing reliance on diesel generators and improving resilience against grid volatility and rising energy costs.

The project is anticipated to avoid approximately 1,680 tons of CO2 emissions annually. Tolu Sokenu, a partner at Grene Capital, emphasized the opportunity to enhance the quality and relevance of assets, while Sianni Ayodel, head of Elektron Renew, noted the increasing importance of renewable energy in commercial industries across Africa.
