Tinubu Embarks on Historic State Visit to UK

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will depart Abuja on Tuesday, March 17, 2024, for a state visit to the United Kingdom, where he will be hosted by His Majesty King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle on March 18 and 19. This visit is significant as it marks the first time in 37 years that a Nigerian leader has visited the British monarch.

The purpose of the visit, as stated by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, is to strengthen bilateral relations and explore avenues for collaboration on issues such as immigration, trade, investment, and cultural exchange. Accompanying President Tinubu are several key officials, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Attorney General and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi, Minister of Solid Minerals Dele Alak, Minister of Information and National Orientation Idris Mohammed, and others.

President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria upon the conclusion of the state visit.
