First Lady Urges Governors' Wives to Impact Grassroots

During the first quarterly meeting of the wives of state governors held in Abuja, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu emphasized the need for the Renew Hope Initiative (RHI) to have a tangible impact at the grassroots level. She charged the governors' wives from the 36 states to deepen their intervention efforts and foster greater ownership of social programs.

Tinubu highlighted the importance of addressing social issues, particularly child malnutrition, which she identified as a major priority. She encouraged the development of initiatives that support young people and promote mentorship, urging the governors' wives to complement government efforts in social and humanitarian programs.

Tinubu also cited successful initiatives from Lagos State, such as a spelling bee competition aimed at encouraging public school attendance. Additionally, she called for the promotion of women's economic empowerment through agriculture and small-scale enterprises, providing examples of local-driven programs that help women generate income and strengthen community economies.
