Five Dead in Badagry Expressway Collision

Five adult males lost their lives in a fatal collision involving a Toyota Camry and an Iveco truck on the Badagry Expressway in Lagos. The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday at Sawmill, near Mowo Bus Stop.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) received a distress call at 5:16 am and dispatched its Dolphin Team from the Igando base to the scene. Upon arrival, they found that the Toyota Camry, with registration number FKJ 630KS, had collided head-on with the Iveco truck, registration number T28081 LA.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the crash was caused by over-speeding and reckless driving by the Camry driver, who lost control and veered into the opposite lane. The impact resulted in the deaths of all five male occupants of the Camry.

Their remains were recovered and handed over to the Federal Road Safety Corps. The scene was attended by multiple agencies, including the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and police operatives from the Morogbo Division.

The road was subsequently cleared and reopened to traffic.
