Two Dead in Ogun Road Crash on Ijebu-Ode-Benin Expressway

On Thursday, at approximately 5:10 AM, a fatal road crash occurred at Oger Junction along the Ijebu-Ode-Benin Expressway, resulting in the deaths of two adult males. The accident involved a white Mack truck with registration number ABC660XC and a Peugeot J5 with an unknown registration number.

Afolabi Odunsi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), reported that four adult males were involved in the crash, with two fatalities and two individuals escaping unhurt. Preliminary investigations suggested that the probable causes of the crash included route violation and speed violation, leading to a collision that caused the Peugeot J5 to catch fire, completely burning its front section.

FRSC rescue personnel arrived at the scene within two minutes to manage traffic and evacuate the deceased victims, who were subsequently deposited at a mortuary. The Ogun State Sector Command emphasized the need for motorists to adhere to traffic regulations, especially during periods of poor visibility and wet road surfaces.
