Nigeria's Flamingos to Face Guinea in World Cup Qualifiers

Nigeria's Flamingos are set to compete against Guinea in the next round of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup qualifiers. Guinea advanced by defeating their opponents with an emphatic 8-2 aggregate score, including a 3-0 win in the second leg after already holding a 5-2 advantage from the first leg.

The Flamingos, who received a bye in the second round due to being the highest-ranked African team, will begin their campaign against Guinea later this month. The first leg of the match is scheduled to take place between May 22-24, with the return fixture set for May 29-31.

The winner of this tie will progress to the third and final qualifying round in July, which will determine the teams that will compete in the global tournament hosted by Morocco in 2029. Nigeria has a strong pedigree in this competition, having qualified for eight of the last nine World Cups, with their best performance being a third-place finish in 2022.
