Nigeria Names 36-Player Squad for U-17 World Cup Qualifiers

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially named a 36-player squad for the U-17 World Cup qualifiers, under the leadership of coach Busari. The team is set to compete against the winner of the first-round fixture between Nigeria and Guinea.

The squad features notable players such as Harmoni Chidi from Bayelsa Queens and experienced goalkeeper Sylvia Echefu. The Flamingos will play the first leg away from home between May 22 and 24, with the return leg scheduled for May 30.

The squad includes five goalkeepers, ten defenders, thirteen midfielders, and eight forwards. To enhance the team's technical capacity, the NFF has appointed three backroom staff: Bankol Olowooker as the first assistant coach, Joi Jeged as the second assistant coach, and Aighewi Omodiagh Kola as the goalkeeping trainer.

The NFF's executive committee approved these appointments based on recommendations from its technical development committee. Success in the second round will allow Nigeria to advance to the final qualification stage, where four teams will represent Africa alongside host nation Morocco.
