NEMA Provides Relief to Flood Victims in Ebonyi State

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) donated relief materials valued at millions of naira to victims of recent flooding in Akaeze and Ishiagu communities within the Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. The relief items included bags of rice, beans, garri, cartons of vegetable oil, foam mattresses, mosquito nets, and women’s clothing.
Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru received the NEMA management team in Abakaliki on Wednesday, expressing concern over the devastating impact of recurring floods in the state. He commended NEMA for its timely intervention to alleviate the hardships faced by victims who lost their livelihoods due to the disaster.
Nwifuru assured that the state government would ensure transparency in the distribution of the relief materials to genuine victims. Earlier, NEMA's Director of Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Imam Gariki, informed the governor that an assessment had been conducted to evaluate the damage and determine the necessary Federal Government assistance.
