Flutterwave Celebrates 10 Years as Fintech Leader

Flutterwave, founded in 2016, celebrated its 10th anniversary at a gala in Lagos, where CEO Olugbenga Agboola announced that the company is the most licensed non-bank entity globally, holding over 50 licenses across 35 countries. Agboola reflected on the challenges faced in the African payment system and the company's mission to provide seamless cross-border payments for small businesses.

He acknowledged the presence of dignitaries, including former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and Sierra Leone's Ernest Bai Koroma. Agboola highlighted Flutterwave's processing of over one billion transactions totaling $50 billion, maintaining a reputation for integrity and reliability.

He emphasized the company's commitment to enabling businesses to scale internationally, particularly in the U.S., U.K., and European markets, while reaffirming Flutterwave's dedication to Nigeria as its home base. The event underscored the potential of Nigerian innovation on the global stage and encouraged entrepreneurs to leverage Flutterwave's platform for business expansion.
