Central Naval Command Enhances Cybersecurity Skills

Rear Admiral Suleiman Ibrahim, representing the Central Naval Command, charged officers and ratings to sharpen their skills in communication and cybersecurity to meet the challenges of modern warfare. This charge was given during the opening of a two-day intra-command communication and cybersecurity competition held at Nigerian Navy Ship Delta in Warri, Delta State.

He emphasized that warfare is no longer confined to land, sea, and air, but has expanded into cyberspace, which is now considered the fifth domain of warfare. Ibrahim noted the importance of controlling information and protecting networks to gain a decisive advantage.

He cited recent global conflicts as examples of how cyber attacks can disrupt military communications and compromise logistics. Commodore Shehu Moham Tasiu acknowledged the meticulous planning behind the event and expressed appreciation for the efforts that made the competition possible.

The competition aims to raise the standard of communication and cybersecurity within the Central Naval Command, with participants expected to apply the knowledge gained during the event.
