N100m Mistakenly Paid to Egbetokun’s Son Returned

A sum of N100 million was mistakenly paid into the account of Egbetokun’s son, which has since been returned to the Anambra State Government. Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin addressed the issue during a program on Channels Television, clarifying that the funds were transferred to the wrong account.

He stated that upon noticing the transaction, he immediately contacted the account officer to reverse the payment. The account was subsequently closed, and a statement was printed to confirm the reversal.

Hundeyin also mentioned that the EFCC is investigating the matter, following a petition related to the incident. This development comes in the wake of a similar situation involving Omoyele Sowore, where a significant amount was also mistakenly paid.

The police have taken swift action to rectify the error and ensure accountability.
