Police Clarify Mistaken ₦100 Million Transfer to Egbetokun

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) addressed an online report alleging that Victor Egbetokun, the son of the Inspector General of Police, received a transfer of ₦100 million from the Anambra State Government's security vote account. Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson, confirmed that the transaction was a mistaken transfer and provided evidence that it was promptly reversed.

The clarification followed public concern regarding the legitimacy of the transfer, which was detected and corrected shortly after the error was discovered. The police emphasized that the funds were returned to the Anambra State Government's account, ensuring transparency and accountability in the handling of state funds.
