N100m Mistakenly Paid to IGP's Son Reversed by Police

The Nigerian Police, represented by spokesperson ACP Benjamin Hundeyin, explained that a sum of N100 million was mistakenly paid into the bank account of Victor, the son of Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun. This incident was addressed during a program on Channels Television.

The funds were reported to have originated from the Anambra State government's security vote account. Upon noticing the transaction, Inspector General Egbetokun immediately contacted his son to clarify the situation.

The bank was instructed to reverse the transaction promptly, as it was deemed incorrect. To prevent further complications, Victor's account was closed, and a statement was printed to reflect the situation.

Hundeyin emphasized that the transaction was purely a bank error and not related to any financial misconduct. The matter is under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
