Former APC Chairman Returns to Nigeria After Prolonged UK Medical Trip, Details Emerge

Former APC Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, has returned to Nigeria after a prolonged medical trip to the UK. Ganduje, who resigned as National Chairman in June citing medical reasons, spent a month in the UK for treatment.

He returned on August 20, confirmed by his former Chief of Staff, Muhammed Garba. Ganduje's resignation led to his appointment as Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria.

He has since pledged to mobilize efforts for the 2027 general elections. A meeting held in Kano with APC stakeholders affirmed support for Ganduje.

Additionally, a group of prominent APC members in Dawakin Tofa constituency defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party, with Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf welcoming them. The mass defection is seen as a sign of approval for the policies implemented during Ganduje's tenure.
