Achi to Lead Discussions at GS26 Gender Summit 2026

The GS26 Summit, themed “From Agenda to Action: Making Innovations Count for the Last Mile,” will take place from September 7 to 9, 2026. It aims to unite policymakers, government officials, private sector leaders, academics, civil society organizations, and development partners to tackle gender inequality and exclusion across Africa.

Dr. Osasuyi Dirisu, Executive Director of PIC, stated that Achi's involvement would offer valuable insights into enhancing systems that convert policy commitments into measurable development outcomes. Achi, an engineer and public policy expert, has over three decades of experience in economic transformation and governance, having served as Prime Minister of Côte d’Ivoire.

The summit will emphasize implementation, accountability, and partnerships, focusing on sectors such as education, health, economic inclusion, and gender-based violence prevention. The Gender and Inclusion Summit was established in 2022 to explore transformative approaches to gender equality and governance in Africa, with the 2026 edition aiming to deliver concrete results for underserved communities.
