GS26 Summit to Drive Nigeria's Inclusion Agenda Forward

The GS26 summit, scheduled for September 2026 in Abuja, aims to shift Nigeria's inclusion agenda into actionable outcomes. Dirisu emphasized the need for innovations and policies to yield measurable improvements for the most disadvantaged, noting that 63% of Nigerians in hard-to-reach areas are multidimensionally poor, as per the 2022 Multidimensional Poverty Index.

Dr. Tayo Aduloju, CEO of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, highlighted the visibility of exclusion at the last mile, particularly affecting women and children. Hajiya Hadiza Zubairu Gamawa, representing the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, discussed the Renewed Hope Social Impact Intervention 774, which addresses energy access, agriculture, digital inclusion, and more.

She mentioned the development of 33 policies and frameworks focused on vulnerable groups. Dr. Amina Dorayi, Technical Committee Chairperson, stressed the importance of the summit's impact extending beyond the event, with the Purple Book serving as a key product to drive implementation of discussions and commitments.
