Adamu Secures APC Nomination for Nasarawa Governorship

Mohammed Adamu, the former Inspector General of Police, has officially acquired nomination forms from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to run for the governorship of Nasarawa State in the 2027 elections. This move comes despite the party's endorsement of Senator Aliyu Wadada as the preferred candidate over current Governor Abdullahi Sule.

Adamu has publicly declared his intent to remain with the APC and contest in the upcoming primaries, urging supporters to disregard any suggestions that he would abandon the party due to Wadada's endorsement. He has faced accusations regarding the party's upcoming primaries, with claims that there is a coordinated effort to pressure ward executives across the state to endorse specific candidates.

Adamu's supporters have criticized these actions as manipulative and an attempt to impose a predetermined outcome in the primaries. The state chairman of the APC, Aliyu Bello, has promised to ensure a level playing field for all aspirants during the primaries.
