Former Jigawa Senator Sabo Nakudu Resigns from APC

Sabo Nakudu, a former Senator representing Jigawa South West, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) along with several allies, including former Defence Minister Muham Badaru's loyalists. Nakudu's resignation letter, dated April 3, 2023, was addressed to the APC chairman of Sundimina Ward in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the APC during his time in office but stated that his decision to leave was made after careful consideration of the current political landscape. The resignation adds to a growing list of APC chieftains departing the party, including Zakari Hausa, Jamilu Zaki, Auwalu Sansani, and Shehu Sule.

Although the resigning politicians have not publicly declared their next political destinations, it is believed that Nakudu may join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which has recently attracted several politicians amid ongoing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections. Mati Ali, spokesperson for Muham Badaru, clarified that the departures were personal decisions and not reflective of Badaru's views on party membership.
