Former Kano Finance Commissioner Kabiru Dandago Dies

Kabiru Isa Dandago, the former Finance Commissioner of Kano State, died on Wednesday at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital. His death was confirmed by Lamara Garba, the Director of Bayero University Kano, where Dandago had a long academic career, joining in September 1990 and eventually becoming the Dean of the Faculty of Social Management Sciences.

He served as the Finance Commissioner from June 2015 until October 2018 during the administration of former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje. Dandago was actively involved in academia and public discussions, recently participating in a Ramadan lecture panel just last weekend.

He contributed significantly to research and scholarship in various fields, focusing on accounting, taxation, and financial economics. His recent donations were aimed at supporting a fund to assist the families of deceased staff members at the institution, highlighting his commitment to the university community.
