Ex-Nigerian Football Star Calls Out Government Over Unfulfilled Promises After NPFL Victory

Former Nigerian football star, Jerome Dung, criticized the Plateau State Government for failing to fulfill promises made after their 2017 NPFL victory. Dung highlighted the unfulfilled pledge of ₦1.5 million cash reward and a plot of land promised by Governor Simon Bako Lalong.

Despite assurances from the technical adviser, Kennedy Boboye, and backroom staff, the promises remain unmet, causing financial distress to former teammates. Dung emphasized the sacrifices made by the team and urged Governor Caleb Mutfwang to intervene.

The delay in fulfilling the promises has left many former players in dire situations, with some unable to afford medical care. Dung's plea for government action aims to address the disappointment felt by the team after their historic achievement.
