Former Ondo Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi Joins APC, Backs Tinubu for 2023 Presidency

Former Ondo Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, has switched political allegiance from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ajayi, who served as the deputy governor under the late governor, cited his desire to contribute to the APC and support Bola Tinubu's potential presidential bid in 2023 as reasons for his move.

He emphasized the need to add value to the party and participate actively in its affairs, drawing on his global political experience. Ajayi highlighted the importance of political reconciliation for national interest, using Kenya as an example.

He acknowledged past political rivalries but stressed the necessity for progress through reconciliation. Ajayi commended Tinubu for his economic reforms and policies, urging Ondo residents to support Governor Aiyedatiwa to deliver democratic dividends.

The APC leadership in Ondo State welcomed Ajayi's return, describing him as a grassroots politician with deep knowledge of the state, which would strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
