Over 500 Ondo PDP Members Defect to APC, Including Former Council Chairman

In a significant political development in Ondo State, more than 500 members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Among the defectors is former council chairman Dele Olatunji, along with other party leaders and supporters. The defection was welcomed by APC leaders, including State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who commended the decision to join the ruling party. Babatunde Kolawole, representing the Special Adviser on Legislative and Party Matters, confirmed APC's continued dominance in Ondo State and urged more defections to strengthen the party.

Anjorin Dagbatan, popularly known as Opeket, a former PDP candidate in the last House of Assembly elections, also left the PDP due to ongoing crises within the opposition party at both national and state levels. He praised APC's capacity and vision for Nigeria's progress, particularly lauding President Bola Tinubu's leadership. The mass defection underscores the shifting political landscape in Ondo State, with opposition leaders and grassroots members aligning with the ruling party.
