Olusegun Mimiko Joins APC to Support Tinubu's Re-election

Olusegun Mimiko, the former governor of Ondo State, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign. He made this announcement on Thursday at the APC secretariat in Ward 7, Ondo West Local Government Area, during a gathering with party leaders, including state chairman Kolawole Babatunde.

Mimiko's decision to defect was motivated by his desire to contribute to national development and support ongoing reforms under the current administration. He specifically commended the Tinubu-led government's educational reforms, including the student loan initiative and efforts to decentralize policy.

The APC welcomed Mimiko's entry, describing it as a homecoming that would enhance the party's political strength in Ondo State. His defection is seen as part of a broader political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections, following earlier movements of several loyalists to the APC.
