Agbonayinma Resigns from APC in Edo State, Citing Issues

Former House of Representatives member Agbonayinma announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State during a press briefing in Benin City on Wednesday. His resignation takes immediate effect.

Agbonayinma expressed his intention to return to the National Assembly and will soon reveal the political party he intends to contest with in the next general elections. He explained that his decision was influenced by internal issues within the APC, including a lack of respect for leadership in the Ikpoba Okha local government area and marginalization in Edo South political appointments.

He described the practices within the party as undemocratic and alleged that certain individuals worked against the party during elections, influencing decisions within its structure. Despite his exit, Agbonayinma stated that he holds respect for the remaining members of the APC and remains committed to public service.

His resignation is expected to surprise party leaders in Edo State, particularly as he is regarded as a prominent figure in the APC from Ikpoba Okha local government area.
