Forum Urges ADC to Reinstate Lagos Reps Candidate Anjolaiya

The Awori Renaissance Forum has called on the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to relist Mr. Olalekan Anjolaiya as the party's candidate for Alimosho Federal Constituency.

This appeal, made by the Forum's Coordinator, Mr. Muraina Ajala, follows Anjolaiya's disqualification due to alleged multiple party registrations.

Ajala argued that replacing Anjolaiya with a non-indigene would be unjust, especially when qualified Awori candidates are available. He emphasized that relisting Anjolaiya would allow the indigenous Awori-speaking people of Alimosho to have representation in the National Assembly, addressing years of political marginalization.

Ajala specifically appealed to the ADC's National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, to rectify this situation. The Forum highlighted Anjolaiya's contributions to community development, which earned him the traditional title of Bobakeye of Igandoland.

They expressed concern that allowing a non-indigene to represent the constituency would further marginalize the Awori people.
