ImpactHub Empowers 10,000 Youths in Northern Nigeria

The ImpactHub Youth Children Foundation, founded by Sundai Ochai, has empowered 10,000 youths and their families across Benue, Borno, and Plateau states through various initiatives. The foundation, which began its work in 2017 and was formally incorporated in 2021, focuses on educational support, mentorship, and peacebuilding.

It distributes basic scholastic materials to underserved schools, impacting around 1,000 students annually. The foundation also addresses period poverty among girls by providing menstrual health education and sanitary kits to 800 girls each year.

Additionally, it trains local women to produce reusable pads, creating income opportunities. The foundation's "Play4Impact" program uses football as a platform for mentorship and conflict resolution, fostering community cohesion.

Sundai Ochai, who holds a master's degree and a PhD from the University of Pretoria, emphasizes the importance of stabilizing education to build resilient communities. The foundation aims to receive the Mandela Rhodes Foundation award in 2025, further strengthening its support systems for conflict-affected communities.
