Charity Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Cancer Care

The Foundation for Cancer Care held its fourth charity golf tournament, titled "Swing Against Cancer," on Friday at Ikoyi Club 1938. The event gathered 100 golfers, including advocates and market executives, to raise funds for cancer screening and treatment.

Team 4D Cure, consisting of Olaid Okubanjo, Oladejo Odunuga, Kunle Olawal, and Olamid Ayanbadejo, won the tournament with 88 points, while Team Pepsi and Team Sacvin finished second and third with 83 and 82 points, respectively. The tournament aimed to promote awareness of early cancer detection, with Prof.

Chumi Nwogu, chairman of the foundation, highlighting the importance of screening. The foundation, established in 2008, focuses on supporting individuals who cannot afford cancer care and promoting awareness campaigns nationwide.

Keynote speaker Farooq Oreagba shared his personal journey of early cancer detection, emphasizing that regular check-ups can save lives. The event received support from various partners, including Air Peace, which reaffirmed its commitment to the foundation's cause.
