Nine Breast Cancer Survivors Graduate from ESAI 2026 Program

The Engrac Life Foundation recently held a graduation ceremony for nine breast cancer survivors from the ESAI 2026 cohort at the Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Diagnostic Hospital in Port Harcourt. This program aims to empower survivors post-treatment through vocational training, mentorship, and psychosocial support.

The survivors showcased various products, including baked goods and handmade fashion items, created during a month-long intensive training program. Participants shared emotional testimonies about their experiences with cancer, including financial hardships and stigma.

Precious Chisa, a survivor, expressed how the program helped her regain hope and stability. The ESAI initiative, launched on March 31, 2026, aims to bridge the gap for cancer survivors facing emotional trauma and financial difficulties.

The program received 90% funding support from the International Cancer Foundation and the European Society for Medical Oncology. Graduates received startup support, including business seed funds and equipment necessary for their new ventures.
