Enugu Police Arrest Four Drug Suspects, Recover N1.8m in Intelligence-Driven Operations

The Enugu State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking-related criminal activities, resulting in the arrest of four drug suspects and the recovery of N1.8 million in Enugu. The arrests were made in separate intelligence-driven operations within and around Enugu metropolis.

The operations were carried out by the command's Special Weapon and Tactics Team and Anti-Cultism Squad, leading to the recovery of a significant quantity of substances suspected to be cannabis and hard drugs, along with the cash sum of N1.8 million. The spokesperson for the command, SP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed in a statement that the operations were part of sustained efforts to dismantle drug distribution networks and curb associated crimes in the state.

The arrests included a 46-year-old female suspect, Omeru Nkechi, who was allegedly involved in drug peddling. Additionally, three male suspects - Anielozi Emmanuel, Ekoh Miracle, and Nwachukwu Michael - were arrested in a separate operation by the Anti-Cultism Squad.

The Enugu State Police Command reiterated its commitment to combating drug abuse, cultism, and other criminal activities in the state, ensuring public safety.
