Enugu Police Detain 52 Suspects, Recover Guns, and Rescue Kidnap Victims

The Enugu State Police Command, led by SP Daniel Ndukwe, detained 52 suspects and recovered firearms and ammunition during a week-long operation from January 24 to January 30. The operation also resulted in the rescue of three kidnap victims.

Among those in custody are three armed robbery suspects, 12 kidnap suspects, three individuals linked to homicide, two rape suspects, four cultists, and 28 others accused of various offenses across the state. The police also apprehended two suspects connected to rape and defilement.

Additionally, they recovered one firearm, 20 rounds of ammunition of different calibers, six stolen vehicles, and three kidnapped victims. The success of the operation was attributed to enhanced intelligence gathering and effective collaboration with security agencies.

The Enugu State Police Command emphasized the importance of public support through credible information to enhance proactive policing and rapid response to criminal activities.
