APC Primaries: Four Ogun Reps Lose Return Tickets

In the recent Ogun State APC House of Representatives primaries, four serving members lost their bids to return to the National Assembly. Isiaka Ibrahim, the Deputy Chief Whip representing the Ifo/Ewekoro constituency, sought a fourth term but reportedly stepped down at the last minute due to pressure from party leaders.

Motunrayo Adijat Adeley, a former two-term member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, emerged as the consensus candidate for the constituency. Other notable losses included Abiodun Akinlad from Ipokia/Yewa South, who was seeking a fifth term, and Tunji Akinosi from Ado-Odo/Ota.

The primaries were conducted across nine federal constituencies in Ogun State, with winners being adopted as consensus candidates by party stakeholders.
