Six Ondo Reps Fail to Secure N’Assembly Return in Primaries

In the recent primary elections held on Sunday across 203 wards in nine federal constituencies of Ondo State, six members of the House of Representatives lost their bids to return to the National Assembly. The representatives affected include Timilehin Adelegbe from Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, Donald Ojogo from Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency, Derin Adesida from Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency, Festu Adefirany from Odigbo/Oluji/Okegbo Federal Constituency, Jimi Odimayo from Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency, and Festu Akingbaso from Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency.

Iboroma Dabibi, the chairman of the APC National Assembly primary committee, issued a statement describing the primaries as peaceful and transparent, reflecting democratic principles. He urged aspirants to support one another and work collectively towards the progress of the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Leaders within the APC, including Kayod Ijalana and Rufu Omosola, expressed optimism about the party's prospects and the significance of the primary outcomes for the political landscape in the constituencies.
