Foursquare Church Calls for Strong Institutions in Nigeria

On September 10, 2026, Rev. (Dr.) Sam Aboyeji, the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, urged Nigerians to focus on building strong institutions for sustainable development during the church's 13th Annual Public Lecture in Lagos. The theme of the lecture was “Building to Last: Faith, Infrastructure and the Future of a Nation.” Aboyeji emphasized that nation-building extends beyond physical infrastructure like roads and schools, highlighting the necessity of competent leadership, integrity, and faith.

He quoted Psalm 127:1 to illustrate that divine support is crucial for successful development. The church aims to contribute to Nigeria's progress through intellectual discourse, as demonstrated by the annual lecture that gathers various stakeholders.

Dr. Segun Aina, the guest speaker, stressed the importance of "invisible infrastructure," arguing that character is essential for managing public assets. The event was chaired by Prince Clem Agba, with contributions from several panelists, including Engr. Olufunmilayo Kadri and Chief Osita Chidoka.
