Aboyeji Calls for Righteous Leadership in Nigeria

Rev. Sam Aboyeji, the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, addressed the need for political leaders, including President Bola Tinubu, to seek godly wisdom to tackle the nation's challenges. Since becoming the 5th General Overseer in November 2019, Aboyeji has pursued a vision themed “Decade of SOARING.” He expressed expectations for the upcoming 2027 general election, urging politicians to act with the fear of God and prioritize righteousness to improve citizens' lives.

He condemned violence in politics, referencing incidents in Osun before the governorship election. Aboyeji advised that leadership should be exemplified through righteousness and wisdom, making it easier to identify wrongdoing.

He illustrated this with a story about a child following her mother’s example in church, emphasizing that leaders should lead by good example. He also cited Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the former Registrar of JAMB, as an example of effective leadership.
