French Court Dismisses Cardiff City's €120M Claim Over Sala

A French court has ruled against Cardiff City in their claim for €120 million in damages related to the death of Argentine striker Emiliano Sala, who died in a plane crash in January 2019. The court dismissed Cardiff's allegations that Nantes, Sala's former club, was negligent in organizing the flight that led to his death.

The crash occurred on January 21, 2019, when the light aircraft carrying Sala went down in the English Channel. Despite the dismissal of the claim, the court ordered Cardiff City to pay approximately €480,000 in legal fees to Nantes, which suffered moral damages during the hearing.

Cardiff City argued that Nantes' involvement in organizing the flight contributed to Sala's death, but the court did not find sufficient grounds to support this claim.
