Fresh Clash in Ondo as Governor Aiyedatiwa Locks Out Deputy from Gov’t House Lodge

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reportedly locked out Deputy Chief Olayide Adelami from the official Deputy Governor Lodge within the Government House, sparking a fresh power tussle. Since assuming office in February 2024, Adelami has been forced to stay in a rundown hotel in Akure, with government records showing millions spent on his accommodation.

Sources within the administration suggest that the move was deliberate, driven by fears of possible political rivalry between the governor and his deputy. Adelami has been denied access to the VIP lodge fully renovated for him within the Government House.

This situation mirrors a past incident where Aiyedatiwa himself was sidelined by the late Rotimi Akeredolu during a bitter political feud in 2023. Adelami, a former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly and governorship aspirant, was nominated by Aiyedatiwa in January 2024 and sworn in the following month.
