Crisis Erupts in Katsina APC Between Radda and Masari

A fresh crisis is unfolding within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State, involving Governor Dikko Umar Radda and Ibrahim Masari, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Political Affairs. The conflict intensified ahead of the 2027 general elections after two senior security aides of Governor Radda were questioned at the Force Headquarters in Abuja regarding the alleged destruction of campaign billboards displaying images of Masari and President Tinubu.

The aides, SP Abdulganiyu Bello and DSP Hassan Bello, were invited for an interview, with police spokesman CSP Anietie Iniedu clarifying that they were not arrested or detained. Speculation about Radda's relationship with influential Katsina politicians grew after his absence from the recently announced APC Presidential Campaign Council, led by Abdulaziz Yari.

This situation has revived claims of divisions within the Katsina APC, with one faction loyal to Radda and another linked to politicians in Abuja. Radda has previously accused political forces from Abuja of undermining his administration.
