Kaduna North Constituency Faces Corruption Allegations

Fresh allegations have arisen concerning the distribution of empowerment items in the Kaduna North constituency, which were reportedly procured for poverty alleviation and youth empowerment. A petition submitted by Ibrahim Sa'id Alkali, a resident of Kawo in the Kaduna North Local Government Area, urges the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to investigate claims of withheld items and potential misuse of public funds.

The items in question include 212 tricycles, 320 motorcycles, 450 sewing machines, 24 vehicles, 200 water pump machines, and 5,500 bags of rice. Despite reports that these items were supplied two years ago, many residents remain unaware of their distribution.

The petition also requests verification of the procurement process, the current location of the items, and whether they have reached the intended beneficiaries. It suggests that some items may be stored in a warehouse in Minna, Niger State.

The petition emphasizes the need for transparency and accountability in managing constituency intervention projects.
