UEFA Confirms Payment to Infantino's Alleged Mistress

UEFA has acknowledged allegations concerning a payment made to Gianni Infantino’s alleged mistress during his time as UEFA general secretary from 2000 to 2016. The Telegraph reported that the woman received a six-figure sum and that UEFA also covered her MBA (Master of Business Administration) fees after her departure.

UEFA stated, “We are aware of the allegations and can confirm a departure payment was made to the individual in question, coupled with the payment of fees for an MBA course at a local business school.” They clarified that the payment adhered to regulations for departing staff that were in place at the time, which have since been tightened since 2016. Gianni Infantino, who is currently the FIFA president, is facing pressure to resign following a failed scheme to sell stakes in the World Cup to investors.
