UEFA to Investigate FIFA President Infantino Criminally

UEFA is preparing to open criminal proceedings against FIFA President Gianni Infantino due to issues surrounding the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal in the United States. This proposal aimed to sell a 20% stake in FIFA business ventures, potentially generating around $4.2 billion.

However, it failed to garner sufficient support from UEFA members, who believed it undervalued FIFA at below $20 million, while they estimated its worth to be over $30 million. Infantino reportedly promised lucrative payments to support the FFE project, which was claimed to have excluded the FIFA Council.

In response to the proposal, UEFA threatened a global boycott of the plan but has since suspended this threat following FIFA's assurances that the offer would not be reintroduced. Legal actions have been initiated in the U.S., and files have been opened indicating possible charges against Infantino and several of his advisors for "criminal mismanagement" in Switzerland.
